Just had a successful ERCP w/manometry at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Siddiqui.
Pressures in Oddi high/was fixed/stent put in/no pancreatitis.

Hello! Was wondering if you had emediate relief of your symptoms or if it took a while. And I don't mean the surgery pain. I had a sphincterotomy a week ago but still have same symptoms as before.

I have just been diagnosed at Modbury Hospital (South Australia) and am awaiting my surgical appointment at either Flinders Medical or Royal Adelaide Hospital. I have had the pain for 15 months following Gall Bladder removal (at Modbury) and I have been under the care of the same surgeon the whole time.

I am having my ecrp procedure tomorrow at royal Adelaide hospital under dr worthley. He seems hopeful this will relieve my problems.

How were you diagnosed with SOD? My daughter is 19 and in college with many hours. The doctors can't find the cause of the pain so they just want to put her on anti-depression medicine. We just don't think that is the problem. We have had all the tests and seem so many doctors.

I have had 2 ERCP.Both unsuccessful 1 in 2010 and 1 in 2011. Next step see a surgeon. The doctor who did ERCP is Dr. Steven Tyler at Cleveland Clinic. Great guy even though they were both unsuccessful. Had referred me to a Dr. Walsh at Cleveland Clinic for a sphincterotomy. Who has had one? What is life like now? Did it work. I am having a very difficult time finding any info on people who have had one and the quality of life after. I am not very familiar with blogs, learning as I am going along. He is one of the top rated doctors for SOD. He has written many things on this and he is also the best at ERCP's, He is so passionate about this little muscle and he really cares about his patients and wants them all to get better! He heads up the study for SOD. There is currently a study that is going on and it is only going on at a select few places!

I HATE THIS DAMM SPHINCTER OF ODDI DYSFUNCTION. IT'S LIKE WE HAVE BEEN SENTENCED TO A LIFE OF A SICKENING PAIN AND CONFUSION WITH NO ANSWERS AND NO END IN SIGHT. I READ THESE BLOGS EVERYDAY AND IT HURTS MY HEART TO READ ABOUT ALL OF THE NICE PEOPLE THAT ARE SUFFERING FROM THIS HIDEOUS DISEASE. WE NEED TO START A SITE FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS SPHINCTER OF ODDI DYSFUNCTION TO SIGN A PETITION. THEN WE CAN APPROACH THE FDA AND OTHER MEDICAL ORGANIZATIONS TO ASK FOR HELP. I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN FOR ALLMOST TWENTY YEARS. THIS IS A TERRIBLE WAY TO LIVE. WE NEED HELP.

I couldnt agree with you more! This site has really helped me feel like I am not alone in this nightmare. I was in the ER last night and the doctors didnt do anything for me. I was vomitting blood, the ER doctor acted like it was no big deal. I am going to go nuts. They act like it is ok to feel like this all the time. I am starting to feel helpless. My husband was so pissed about what happened to me he actually wrote a letter to the doctors today. It not only affects us but our families as well. My husband was so upset that he wrote a wonderful letter to Dr. Freeman, talking about the horrible care that I receive when I go to the hospital. Freeman is great but if other doctor dont know how to treat it they treat me like crap. I am so blessed to have my husbsnf for support. This blog really is helping me! I dont feel so alone in this nightmare. I really appreaciate all of you sharing with me. It is good that we have each other!

THE DRUG COMPANIES NEED TO MAKE A MEDICATION THAT RELAXES THE THE SPHINCTER MUSLE AND HELPS WITH THE PAIN AND DOES'T UPSET OUR STOMACHS.

I JUST READ THAT THERE ARE BETWEEN THREE AND FOUR MILLION PEOPLE IN THE THE USA THAT HAVE SPHINCTER OF ODDI DYSFUNCTION. THE DRUG COMPANIES NEEDS TO MAKE US A NEW MEDICATION THAT WORKS. IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND YIOU HAVE SPHINCTER OFF ODDI DYSFUNCTION YOU SHOULD BE WRITING A LETTER TO THE (FDA) AND ASK THEM FOR HELP.
